Muse is Meta’s personal AI agent. You give it a job, it can work across the apps you connect, and it is supposed to wait for your approval before it sends a message, publishes a post, or spends money. It is a different product from the Meta AI chatbot.
Meta’s own Muse page says it is available to people in the US and Canada who are 18 or older. The subscription helpadds that Muse is in limited testing and is not offered everywhere. If the join page will not open an account for your region, that limit is Muse’s.
What it is built to do
Meta’s getting-started guide describes a chat that is not turn-by-turn. You can send a follow-up before the last answer finishes, and Muse is meant to keep the earlier context. You can also open a side chat when a second topic would clutter the main one.
From that same guide, and from Meta’s download and business pages, the everyday jobs are:
- Answer a question, then keep going when you add a detail.
- Take a task you describe, ask a clarifying question if it needs one, and show you the work.
- Set a reminder and aim to ping you at that time. Reminders live under the Assistant icon, in Upcoming.
- Read or create files: PDFs, spreadsheets, documents, images, and podcasts. Finished files land in the Library tab.
- Connect email, calendar, and other tools you choose. On a Mac it can also work with local files, after you grant macOS permission.
- Help a small business with pitches, product pages, and content, using connectors such as Canva, Shopify, Slack, and Meta ads. Muse’s business page says nothing publishes, sends, or spends without your approval.
You can rename Muse and change how it sounds by telling it, in the chat, what you want different. Meta also says Muse can be wrong, or can take an action you did not expect, so you should watch what it does.
Where you can open it
Meta’s download page offers a Mac app and a free mobile app for iPhone and Android. The App Store listing includes iPad and asks for iOS 18 or iPadOS 18. On the web, sign in at muse.ai.
Install the app from that download page or from the listing named Muse from Meta. Other apps that happen to be called Muse are different products.
How to start
- Open Muse on the web, or install it from Meta’s download page.
- Sign in with a Meta account. If you do not have one, Meta lets you create it from Facebook, Instagram, an email address, or a phone number.
- You land on the Chat tab. Type one clear job, not a pile of them.
- Read what comes back. Ask for a change in the next message if it missed the point.
- Connect an app only when a task actually needs it. You can say what Muse may not touch.
A code on this site is an invite you try inside Muse. It does not create the account for you, and it does not open Muse in a country where Muse is closed.Redeeming a code is a later step.
If something blocks you
- The account will not open. Check that you are in a country Muse currently serves, and that the account meets the age rule. This site cannot move that line.
- You installed the wrong app. The Meta AI app is a separate chatbot. Muse’s listing is “Muse from Meta.”
- It did something you did not ask for. Stop it in the chat, say what to undo, and narrow the next request. Meta’s business page says you can undo an action.
Questions people ask first
Is Muse the same as Meta AI?
No. Meta AI is the chatbot inside Meta’s apps. Muse is the separate agent, with its own app and its own site at muse.ai.
Do I need Facebook?
No. A Meta account can be created with Facebook, Instagram, email, or a phone number. You do need that Meta account to sign in.
Can it send email on its own?
Meta’s business page says nothing publishes, sends, or spends without your approval. Still read the draft. Meta’s getting-started guide also warns that Muse can take an unexpected action.
Is there a Windows app?
Meta’s download page lists Mac, iPhone, and Android, and the App Store listing includes iPad. It does not list a Windows app. On a Windows PC, use muse.ai in the browser.
