Is Muse AI Free? Free Features, Limits & Pricing Explained

Updated October 10, 2026

Yes. Muse is free, and the free plan has a usage limit. When you hit that limit you can wait for it to refresh, or pay for a larger weekly allowance. The app itself is listed as free, with subscriptions sold inside it.

Meta does not publish a single public number for the free allowance. The paid numbers are published. Treat anything else you read, including a fixed “free tokens” figure, as unofficial until you see it in your own Usage screen.

What the free plan includes

Meta’s getting-started guide andsubscription help describe the same free product: chat, tasks, reminders, and files, until the usage limit is reached. You still sign in with a Meta account. You still have to be in a country where Muse is offered, and 18 or the age of majority where you live.

Meta’s Muse page puts it in plainer words: Muse is free for most of what people need, and subscription plans exist for people who want more. The same page says it is available to people in the US and Canada who are 18 and over.

The App Store listing marks Muse from Meta as free, with in-app purchases. The download page calls the iPhone and Android apps free as well.

What the paid plans cost

About Muse subscriptions lists two plans. Benefits can vary by region, and the ones you can buy are shown before you pay.

The subscription renews every month on the date you first paid, until you cancel. You manage it on the same platform where you bought it. Buying in the iPhone app means you cancel through that app store account, not through a different device.

A longer comparison is in free vs paid. How the token numbers work is in Muse tokens explained.

How to see your own limit

  1. Open Muse and sign in.
  2. On the phone, tap Menu in the top left, then Settings. On the web, Menu is in the bottom left, then Settings.
  3. Look under Usage. That is where Meta puts the upgrade button.

To upgrade from there: tap or click Upgrade, pick a plan, and continue to payment. Meta says you get a notice when the subscription is active. The path is the same one inSubscribe to Muse.

What an invite code does not change

A code on this site is a referral you can try inside Muse. It is not a free month of Power or Maximum, and it is not a way around the country or age rule. When Muse accepts a redemption, this directory’s offer is 1 billion tokens for the new person and for the person who shared the code, for up to 31 people per code. Muse decides whether a code is accepted. A full code or an ineligible account can mean no tokens.

Questions about the price

Do I need a card to try Muse?

The product is free to start. A card comes in when you subscribe, or if you later let Muse shop. Meta’s business page says checkout can use a one-time card number so the merchant and the agent do not see your real card.

Are the paid plans optional?

Yes. You can stay on the free limit and wait for it to refresh.

Does this website sell Muse?

No. Plans are sold by Meta, in the Muse app or at muse.ai. This site only lists invite codes people have shared.

Will a referral code raise my weekly plan?

No. Plan tokens and an accepted invite reward are different. Readthe token guide before you mix them up.
