10 Useful Things You Can Do With Muse AI

Updated October 10, 2026

Muse is useful when the job has a finish line and you can check the result. These ten are jobs Meta’s own pages describe: chat, tasks, reminders, files, connectors, shopping with approval, and the Mac app’s local files. Each one includes the limit that comes with it.

None of them require a paid plan to try. The free plan has a usage limit, and a long job can meet it. Meta does not publish that free number. Your Usage screen does.

1. Ask a question, then add the missing detail

The Chat tab is not turn-by-turn. Ask the question, then send the constraint you forgot, such as the budget or the city. Meta says you do not have to repeat the whole setup. This is the fastest way to learn whether the account works.

2. Turn a messy note into a checklist

Paste the note and ask for an ordered list. Say “do not message anyone.”Meta’s task steps are: describe it, answer questions, review the result. A walkthrough is inyour first task.

3. Set a reminder you can find later

Tell Muse what to remember and when. It confirms the details and aims to ping you then. Open the Assistant icon, then Upcoming, and check that the reminder exists. If the time is wrong, say the correction. Keep your own alarm for anything you cannot miss.

4. Summarize a PDF or a spreadsheet

Upload the file and ask for a short summary plus the numbers you care about. Muse can read, summarize, and edit PDFs, spreadsheets, documents, images, and podcasts. The finished file is saved in the Library tab and also dropped into the chat. Read the summary against the original before you trust a total.

5. Ask for a file back, in a shape you name

“Make a one-page document” or “put this in a spreadsheet with two columns” is a complete request. Meta’s tip is to say the format. If the columns are wrong, name the column. You do not start over.

6. Keep a second project in a side chat

Open the menu in the top left, then the pencil-and-note icon. That side chat stays separate, and Meta says Muse remains aware of both. Delete the side chat when the project is done so the list does not become a drawer of old jobs.

7. Draft a reply, and stop before it sends

Ask for the draft in the chat first: who it is to, what it must say, and what it must not promise. Connecting email comes later, when you want Muse to see the inbox.Meta’s business page says nothing sends without your approval. Read the draft even so. Muse can be wrong about a date or a name.

8. Compare something you might buy

Ask for a comparison, not a purchase. When you do shop through Muse, Meta says a one-time card number can be used at checkout so the merchant and the agent do not see your real card, and that eligible purchases can be covered by Link’s purchase protections. Approval still comes first. Nothing spends without it. Do not connect a card for a task that is only research.

9. Give a small business one goal

Meta’s business page describes connectors such as Canva, Shopify, Slack, QuickBooks, and Meta ads, and jobs such as a client pitch or a product page. The useful version of this is one goal: “Draft a week of captions in this voice. Do not publish.” You approve anything that would post or spend. The full connector list is in Muse’s settings, and it changes.

10. On a Mac, list files before you let it move them

The Mac app can organize files and read Messages, Calendar, and Notes after macOS permissions. Ask for a list first: “Show me the invoices from last month. Do not move them.” If the list is right, a later message can ask for the folder. Full Disk Access, Automation, and per-app choices (Off, Read only, Read and interact) are explained in Meta’s Mac help and inthe Mac guide.

If a job fails

Questions about these jobs

Do all ten need the paid plan?

No. They run on the free plan until you hit its usage limit.

Which one should I try first?

The checklist. It needs no connector and you can grade it yourself.

Can Muse post to Instagram from this list?

Only after you connect the account and approve the post. The safe version is a draft that stays in the chat.

Are these available outside the US and Canada?

Meta says Muse is available to people in the US and Canada who are 18 and over, and that it is in limited testing. Features you cannot open are not something an invite code repairs.
